Rating by category:
We booked this hotel after a friend's recommendation. Within a walking distance of the restaurant Rustico.
The room was good, clean and sufficiently spacious. The sanitary facilities are very good. The location is very good, close to Union Street and the corresponding bus connections and bars / restaurants. The view is less good due to the city center location, but you don't expect that from the location either. So no criticism. The hotel is located in the middle of a residential area. Due to the proximity to the party mile in Aberdeen, you sometimes have the party people walking around in front of the hotel and talking loudly. But it is bearable, the decor in the lobby is very nice. Everything bright and beautiful new. The bar has a few nice standard whiskeys to choose from and you can chill out during the day or in the evening.
The breakfast was not satisfactory. Scrambled eggs obviously from the bucket, thus not directly from fresh eggs, no vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers) at the buffet. Thus, it is better to book without breakfast and have breakfast in one of the countless cafés of the Union Street or buy sandwiches or shortbread and good coffee in the hotel bar.
Excellent could not ask for better
Spacious room with excellent shower. Extensive breakfast buffet. You're right in Union Street and near a bus stop / central station.
carpeted room messy; Friday evening / at night noisy in the street (room at the front)
The hotel is very convenient for shopping seaside hills and the staff were more than helpful
Breakfast was a bit drawn out with long queues at the weekend
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is well loacted for exploring the city centre.
THe location is very good, quick walk to the centre close to the main roads to go to countryside
good location to city center shops/bars
It was very central, and very clean. The staff were excellent and the room was very comfortable
Location perfect and facilities ie room persect, breakfast good, bar good
The cleanliness of the hotel was as good, if not better than the last time we stayed here over 18 months ago. Good to see standards maintained in an established hotel.
The Bed was the best ive ever slept. And I have stayed in hotels around the world. It was a brilliant hotel and we will be back. Thank you.
Dalmore whisky at £2.30 a go
It was clean and simple. We only needed this for a night before we left for the airport and it provided everything we needed. Wifi was available.
The street noise lasted all night!! It varied from car noise to drunks coming home at all hours. We had to leave the the window open because there was no air circulation in the room and our room was very stuffy and hot. Even if the window was closed it still would have been noisy. It was great that Wifi was available, but it was free only for 30 minutes.
this is my third visit to the holiday Inn Aberdeen. I found the room very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We needed help to get to the theatre, staff first class. Breakfast was plentiful and of good selection. only complaint was the scrambled eggs which ws over cooked. Will certainly use this particular Inn again especially as it is near to shopping.
